| Founded in 2005, ATI – Advanced Medical Technologies is a developer of non-invasive diagnostic devices for the ophthalmology market. The Company has two products in its portfolio, a non-invasive pupil dilation device, called the FIM and a non-invasive tonometer to measure intraocular pressure, called the NIT. The United States market potential for these products is estimated at $500 million. ATI has developed a working prototype for the FIM and is developing a prototype for the NIT. Market launch is expected in 2007.
Non-Invasive Tonometer (NIT)
ATI is developing a non-invasive, easy-to-use, hand-held instrument to measure intraocular pressure (IOP). High IOP is a primary indicator of glaucoma. Pressure against the optic nerve and compression of blood vessels causes a gradual loss of vision. In the U.S., glaucoma affects 3 million people. There is a need for an accurate and easy to use screening device as half of those affected do not know they have the disease.
Field Induced Mydriasis (FIM)
ATI is developing a drug-free mydriatic (pupil dilating) device, called FIM, that can immediately induce pupil dilation for an eye exam. After an exam, the FIM is removed and pupil size returns to normal within 10 minutes.
Investment Requirement & Milestones
